Thx for the back (esc) button tip, clicking on a song while it's playing should definitively call the 'now playing' screen - IMHO

Anxiously waiting for the volume bar
I thought about a fixed position on the screen it should be accessed on every moment while playing, together with a mute function. What about some kind of geatures, a-la iPod?

Another feature request: if the name is too long, could it be shown on more lines in the 'now playing' screen?

    Again congrs for your work!

I love the party mode, but would it be possible to add a list of songs on the queue and maybe add a way to delete them from it? Drag & drop way of arranging the queue would also be übercool. Thanks for a great application

    What is a geature?
Well, you have the + and - button at top of the device at all times. You can use those to control the volume at all times. Also, press dpad middle button to pause, which is IMHO enough the same as mute that I can't immediately justify adding a mute button. I really wouldn't like to fill the user interface with too much of stuff. Keep it simple, you know.

I'll definately focus more on the now playing screen for the next release. It will definately have a bigger cover image of the album as well as more information on the album (and multiple lines if needed).

Great App, seems to be working better each time I upgrade. Thanks.

BW: I assume Jurop88 meant "gesture"

I still didn't get what kind of gestures he means. Could you be a bit more specific?

I don't have an Ipod so no idea what gestures they use for control.

BTW: Is it possible for the player to remember the volume setting you selected ... it would save my ears being blasted everytime I started up the player

I'm having problems with the new version too. I've tried the 1.61test deb and it still won't run on my 770. Run in xterm gives:

    BusyBox v1.01 (Debian 3:1.01-4.osso12) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

    ~ $ ukmp

    File "/usr/bin/PyAtom.py", line 25, in <module>

    ImportError: No module named PIL

I hope that helps you track down the problem.
Thanks for developing such a good media player for us!

Konttori, I've updated to the latest ver. 1.61 test and it continues to error out, I un-installed and re-installed, re-booted to no e-evail, it just starts to load then closes right out as some others have had as well. I've run it through X-term as well and will post the error code for you at the end of the post, I hope there's something in there that will help you diagnose the problem. I was also curious as to when/what version we might see it show up in the application manager ? And I remember a long time ago something about visualizations ?

Yes, it was definitively to be meant as `gestures` - the N800 on-screen keyboard is not the perfect one for long posts
On an iPod you move your thumb in a semi-circolar fashion around a central button; that way you have an endless volume control/seeker. Implementing kinetic scroll on it could be great - think of a roller control, let's say for example on a VCR or a DJ cdplayer
btw, i'm feeling rather dumb after have read of +/- and center d-pad button... RTFM first

And... i tried to reproduce the bug without succes! Let's wait next reboot...
