This is the replay from Vonage in reference to using it with an N800. Dckw1

Thank you for choosing Vonage, the #1 rated digital phone service.

I understand you would like to use N800 with Vonage service.

You will not be able to use Vonage service with the N800.

Why people continue to contact customer support for any company regarding anything even remotely technical is beyond me.
If it's not in their little scripted "how-to" book then it either doesn't exist and will never exist or it's "not supported".
Basically, if you have the SIP settings for Vonage then it WILL work.
True SIP-based VoIP is SIP-based VoIP. The company running it doesn't matter.
Remember though, you HAVE to not only be running the new Skype-enabled N800 firmware but you also have to be running the new SIP-support beta application as well (search in here for more info and download links).

Google would have answered your question a hell of a lot faster than Vonage's stupid tech support:
http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic4260.html
Display Name: The phone number for the softphone account with the 1 (11 digits)
User Name: The phone number for the softphone account with the 1 (11 digits)
Auth User: The phone number for the softphone account with the 1 (11 digits)
Password: (your password)
Domain: sphone.vopr.vonage.net
SIP Proxy: sphone.vopr.vonage.net:5061
Outb Proxy: sphone.vopr.vonage.net:5061
Sip proxy: 216.115.25.198
There's no outbound proxy
Check box "enabled"

{info valid as of 12 MAR 2005}
Here's a configuration that I used last fall with a vonage soft phone service. It is tuned up to work properly with mac os x.

;; Vonage Xten X-Lite Configuration

>Preferences>System Settings>Proxy>

Username: 1myphone-number
Authorization User: 1myphone-number
Password: my-vonage-password
Domain/Realm: sphone.vopr.vonage.net
SIP Proxy: sphone.vopr.vonage.net:5061
Out Bound Proxy: sphone.vopr.vonage.net:5061

This gets the phone working.

Next, change the ports under the Network menu as follows:

>Preferences>System Settings>Network>

Listen SIP Port: 5061
Listen RTP Port: 8060

The SIP port change avoids port contention with IChat.

The RTP port change avoids confusion with web applications that may
use port 8000 (definitely the case for my machine).
