    Is this a potential problem?
No, that's harmless. I guess it's a leftover from debugging.

Since /home/user/.config/lxpanel/LXDE/panels/top is included in the easy-deb-chroot package, you could probably just de-install and then re-install the easy-deb-chroot package. The Debian image wouldn't be affected by that. You might just have to redo your edits of .chroot, if you have done some.

1- still not able to fix this problem, even tried qole's new version "Easy Debian 0.9.47". My N900 has an English keyboard

2- I followed what you suggested but did not work for me. I deleted the big img file and reinstalled everything again, the menu now back.

qalhat: The only way to get keyboard back now is with the "Fix LXDE kbd" icon. I've put it on my desktop and I press it to return to LXDE.

    Are you using this icon?

Just an observation that when, in open office writer, you go to full screen
(control + up arrow) the "file" and "edit" options do not work. However when you return to the usual size they function so you that can close out cleanly. More a nuisance then a serious problem...

Similar issue with the terminals in accessories. Here "view" was also
    inaccessible.

    qalhat:

You should see a terminal open first, then, for a short time, a dialogue box will open with an OK button. Both of these windows will close automatically, leaving the LXDE window at the front.

Does this happen? If not, what does happen?

qalhat: you are probably having the "Information" problem. You will need to edit the xephfocus file as described in the wiki.

The new version of Easy Debian in Extras-devel (0.9.48) adds a new Maemo-side script, /usr/bin/fixkbdfocus that runs the necessary chroot commands to get keyboard focus back, but it is more elegant, works with any m5 image, and doesn't have localization issues. So no new image or editing is required.

The fixkbdfocus script can be used with any window with keyboard focus problems. Just give it the window name as a parameter.
