That was a screen and keys lock. You can make this happen ,as a choice ifmyou briefly hit the power button. You say you clicked icons - just to be sure, what it is asking for to unlock is to hit the power button on top of the n800, followed by the hardware button in the center of the top square on the left face.
That said, from time to time I've found removing the battery a good way to reset the n800 when it is acting unresponsive.
Press the following keys one after the other: an I with a circle around it and a black square with a light square around it.
Anyway, I press the icons in sequence but nothing happens. After a minute or two that window disappears only to reappear if I touch the screen. I can't close my Nokia; I can't turn programs off and on. The device is locked up.
I was trying to install the Mozilla-based browser for maemo but it wouldn't install because I was missing some programs. In the process of closing the Nokia down I somehow locked my device.
Can anyone suggest what I might do to get the device working again?
I did seach the Forum but could not find an answer.
Thank you
