Sure, anytime.

The "boring" bit was part of the sarcasm, by the way.

Aaand it's dead again. I still think this all misses the point of trying to get even the non-ITT/talk.maemo people to be aware (in addition to those of us who ARE and STILL didn't know about it). I would expect it would be advantageous to use the Tableteer app to simple inform ALL of the user base that is looking for news about new updates--you know.. the whole POINT of that app. All of the discussion about the web is secondary to the WHO or HOW to get it advertised right ON the devices. What's the point of the OS2008 and Tableteer website ads on there now anyway?

I've become less and less interested in participating anymore. Maybe you have too.

Is there anyway to make maemo blog while planet would have more official project news, as well as weekly news would be the mix of the best from both.

I would be happy if I had less N900 noise and a lot more relevant 770/N800/N810 in a site, too. But I'm still focused on getting the jaded folks and the others who've simply overlooked--by using what Nokia had ALREADY implemented as a notification scheme.

OK, I guess there just isn't that much interest in getting more interest from the non-N900 (ie: Internet Tablet) folks. :P

What is it that you're proposing to have happen here? Have Nokia restart Tableteer? (Not going to happen.) Have Nokia ship an update to the Tableteer applet to make it point somewhere else? (Not going to happen.)

I, too, would like mwkn to be more visible. Unfortunately the methods you're pushing to make it so seem rather unrealistic.

The latter. (Nokia PUBLISH (ship??heh) an update to the Tableteer app that sits on N8x0 and 770 devices that, instead of pointing to defunct URLs, can instead point to modern, more useful sites like MWKN).

Why would you say that that isn't going to happen and why would it be unrealistic? What prevents a new Tableteer app update from being pushed out to the repositories? I don't see a technical reason why it can't happen and the only other reason I can think of is that Nokia (or the repo maintainer) isn't interested in community developments.

So yeah.. what's the issue? And who do we talk to about the app? Is it open?

Well, frankly, it's not a technical issue. It's a business and organizational one. OS2008 and the N8x0 devices have been discontinued since early 2009, Tableteer is defunct and Nokia is now two generations down the road from that timeframe. Restarting the machinery to push a package update for Tableteer (even a small one-liner, single-package change) is expensive and not going to happen.

Nokia has moved on as an organization and something like this is so far off their radar as to not even exist.

There's nobody to talk to and, no, it isn't open. However sane your proposal may seem, it's not in the least realistic. This is why nobody is jumping to "make it happen", because it's simple not going to.
