I was wondering if there is a way that switching to silent mode would actually turn down the phone volume as well as silence incoming calls/texts etc?

Currently if the phone is in silent mode, and I go to a game/web browser/whatever, I still get sound unless I actually move down the volume slider.

what I want silent mode to do, is be a true silent mode and turn off all sounds, unless I were to pick up or make a call
