FLV files are supported once you install the additional codecs for gstreamer (that come e.g. with installing zoutube).
If the files don't appear in Videos, try to browse the filesystem. Maemo's tracker service might not be able to recognize flv as media, but you can tell MediaBox to scan manually for media in a folder without having to rely on tracker.

Yep, seems to be missing sometimes, and sometimes it's there...

It seems to depend on the media. I'm investigating this.

EDIT:

Don't rely on the seek signal too much. Unseekable media such as radio streams don't have it (besides it was missing in the video player, but this is now fixed

).

i'm using the latest versions of mediabox and enhanced a/v decoders on PR1.2

what i did is start the movie and let it play for a few seconds. as soon as i use the volume control, the video goes black and silent but the counter keeps running. if i then press pause and resume the counter resets to zero and a few seconds later the player crashes..

i've been having problems since a few mediabox versions back.
this really sucks because otherwise i really like mediabox.

Having a problem recently when streaming videos from youtube via MediaBox. I can't select playback points, instead it defaults to the begining of the video everytime i select a certain playback point.

For example, if i'm watching a video and i want to rewind it back to 0:53 instead of it buffering back to that point, it will go back to the begining of that video? I've tested with numerous random videos and its always the same outcome?

It's just a guess, but maybe your video file got corrupted. The only error visible related to playing the video is DSP MMUFAULT, and this comes deep from the N900 media system.

Youtube videos are HTTP streams without proper backend support for seeking. Some player backends do better at seeking than others.
But in general, seeking in Youtube videos doesn't work too well.

Tried sifting through this thread but way too many pages...

Just wanted to know if mediabox is considered the best media player for N900. I mainly want it to watch films.

thanks for getting back to us. its weird because i've been using the youtube player on this app for backend seeking and never had any problems? i've only noticed it in the last few days? maybe i should try rebooting my device as i havent done so in a couple of days now lol.

one other thing, are you planning on providing support to download videos from youtube like the old zoutube app? also any plans to create a widget player for mediabox to replace the crappy default one by nokia?

i have to say your mediabox player is the best music player for n900, its really good and practical.
