I am trying to install the "TiEmu2 Port" (http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2008/tiemu2/) on my N810 device. However, when enter the "aaplication manager" inerface, it pops out the error message as "Unable to download tiemu2. Application package not found".
Can somebody help me to solve it? Where can I download the application package? Appreciate!!!

    My personal preference is
    AlmostTI Graphing Calc Emulator.

Check that out instead, I believe it's in Extra-Devel.

I tried to install "AlmostTI Graphing Calc Emulator" as well, but I cannot download it due to "Server not found".
I am Chinese. Do not know if this is a regional issue or not? I there anyother website available for me to download it? Thanks!

    http://www.box.net/shared/hnvhxquf9s

Download all those files and read the README.txt

    -------------------------------
I'd also like to report a bug (not sure who to send it to) I stumbled upon while investigating the broken link reported in this thread.

Broken "navigation" links. To replicate this bug: go to http://maemo.org/downloads/ you will be redirected to http://maemo.org/downloads/Maemo5/ in the Search bar type in something like "almost" this will link you to the Maemo5 version, now if you have realized your "mistake" and click OS2008 it links to http://maemo.org/downloads/search/application/ instead of the correct link: http://maemo.org/downloads/OS2008/

Thanks! I can download the files from the box.net webside. but I have no idea how to use X-terminal and become the root (in the readme file "open X-term and become root"). Could you please help me on that? Thanks!

I'm going to assume you can figure out how to open xterm (menu>settings>xterm)

I like the easyroot package but it's a personal preference. Download and install: http://nitstuff.appspot.com/dists/ch....0-4_armel.deb

In the xterm window you should be greeted to something like
    Code:
    Busybox v1.6.1 (2008-09-18 09:43:17 EEST) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

    ~ $
the "~ $" part is the important part. This is called "the prompt". The first half tells you what directory you are currently CD'd into. The second half tells you which user/account you are running commands as.

As a quick primer, "~" is shorthand for the home directory, in this case, it's located as /home/user/
"$" in this case means you are running as the user named "user" (quite literally, eh?). To run administrative tasks you need root permissions, therefore you are going to "log in" as root. You will not be prompted for a password (unless you are doing this via ssh). You do not type the prompt, you type everything after the prompt. If you tap the Tab on-screen button (or CTRL+I) it will try to auto-complete what you are typing based on what files exist in that directory.

    Code:
    ~ $ root

    Busybox v1.6.1 (2008-09-18 09:43:17 EEST) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

    Nokia-N810-43-7:~#
    Now you are root.

    Continuing on

    Code:
    Nokia-N810-43-7:~# cd /home/user/MyDocs/.documents
    Nokia-N810-43-7:/home/user/MyDocs/.documents/# ls *.deb
    libticables_3.9.7-1_armel.deb
    libticalcs_4.6.2-1_armel.deb
    libtifiles_0.6.6-1_armel.deb
    tiemu2_2.08-1_armel.deb
    Nokia-N810-43-7:/home/user/MyDocs/.documents/# dpkg -i libticables_3.9.7-1_armel.deb libticalcs_4.6.2-1_armel.deb libtifiles_0.6.6-1_armel.deb tiemu2_2.08-1_armel.deb
The readme should guide you through the rest, if not reply with where you got stuck.

Hi linuxeventually, thanks for your help!
I still cannot install the TiEmu2 sucessfully on my N810. When I enter the "# dpkg -i libtifiles_0.6.6-1_armel.deb" in x-thermal, it shows "cannot access archive: No such file or directory Errors were encountered while processing: libtifiles_0.6.6-1_armel.deb".
I do not know what is wrong with my device? BTW I have downloaded all the files in my storage card, under a forlder "TI Calculator".

Hi linuxeventually,, I have installed the it in my N810 already by change all the files location.
But, I do not know how to do for the 11th step "11.) Menu key>Set ROM> and navigate to where you saved os.89u". When I open the TiEmu2, I cannot find the OS.89u under the set rom selection window. I cannnot find the OS.89U.

Finally, I installed it successfully. I found the OS.89U file and loaded it. But when I tried to configure, just after I press the "memu" key it shows the white screen. I tried to uninstall it, then re-install again. But cannnot recover it. Then i tried to clear device and restore original settings, still cannot recover it. (
What can I do to solve it?
