    N900 Gmail Issues?

    So, i've seen some people having issues with Gmail setup. I know that there has been more than one person with this problem but the issue is that my problem appears to be slightly different from everyone else's that i've seen. Its telling me that i've selected the wrong port or server even though i followed the simple steps and double as well as triple checked all of my account names and passwords.

    Is there a specific port i need to use? or should i not be using IMAP but rather POP? I'm just confused as hell, and I still have to setup my exchange email account after this, which should be even more fun.


    apologies for the noobish question, but i couldn't find anything.

    You should use the automatic guide in the E-mail app. For syncing, you could use Syncevolution.

    Thats exactly what I did. And for some reason, I'm effectively getting no dice. Its giving me that error after i followed the guide not touching any of the settings.

    Dice! Thank you. I couldn't find this, even when looking on the gmail help site. Hopefully this gets indexed so that other idiots such as myself don't make this mistake. I hope i don't have to come back for Exchange help.
