i want the new 1.2 update but when i try to install it, n900 says i need to connect it to PC and use nokia software updater, then i connect it and take mass storage divice, then i start the updater, nokia updater says there is no update for my phone?
You can either uninstall whichever application is causing the OTA update to fail (usually a 3D game - tuxracer, openarena, quake, etc), or use the flasher: http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_tablet_firmware
I've posted this a LOT recently.. The chances are you have a package installed that is blocking/jamming the upgrade process..
It is VERY likely that it is a package that relies on a packages called libgles1 which relies on libgles1-sgx-img which relies on opengles-sgx-img-common
If you have any of these packages installed, remove them:

I try and update mine and it tells me their isnt enough memory available in the space required. The thing is I have 1.78 gb avl in the spot where applications go.
you could also try the instructions in this post... it'll show you which packages are eating the most rootfs space (this is the space the error is refering to)
