I am planning to get a second N900 for my wife and was wondering how well does the video call works between two N900's. I will be interested to know about video call over skype, google talk and sip.

I tried skype video call. From laptop to n900. Video from n900's front camera looks absolutely horrible on laptop's screen. But on n900 itself it's not so bad.(because you see picture straight from the camera) Video from laptop looked a bit pixelated. If you want I can show you screenshots from both screens.

Can anyone please provide a link which shows how to make video calls from N900 on Skype please because I can't see any option which can do that.

Make sure to go in Contacts then settings and enable video call option.

I think you are referring to the option called 'Display video calling option' which is already selected [Checked]....but I still can't see any option when I am making call to Skype contact on my PC...

Sorry casper ... my mistake....I can see option called 'Skype Video Call' but its not coming for some Skype contacts why is that so?Also I can see my video on n900 but there is nothing on my Computer screen did I miss something?...anyway...One more thing is that can I use rare camera with it instead of front because of the quality?

hi sjunejo, this been discussed in many threads and theres a few reasons why u wont see the option, enable video call in settings, other persons pc has no cam etc etc. prob better off doing a search

There is also a major update for skype. Video call option would not work till I updated to the latest version on my PC.Then it all clicked into place.

I have been using video calls with google talk. Works nicely. Sadly the front camera is not that good.

One thing that would be nice with video calls would be full screen option. When talking someone with good quality camera, it would really nice to have a bigger picture.
