i can't to seem to do a search for a website using google/search. i am using wifi from the neighbour. i have not had an issue before. i also just installed the latest maemo version.

i tried to search for a site via firefox, still the same thing. the page shows me " server not found ".

is it the neighbour's wife set up? is it the latest maemo?

thanks for any help at all.

I'm thinkin' it's a DNS issue with your connection. (your neighbors set up)...
Do you have anything else besides the N900 you can use to connect with?

I'd assume that the wife is not part of the problem.

If you can load www.google.com in your browser, there shouldn't be any problem. If you can't do that, you need to check your DNS settings. And I'm assuming you can do other things that require an Internet connection. Check this first.

From an XTerminal
Code:
nslookup www.google.com
If this doesn't work, you've got a problem with your DNS settings.

Last resort is to ask your neighbour if her network is working...

I don't know if this is related, but I had a weird problem where google search wouldn't work for me. It would load the google homepage (sometimes from cache, sometimes not i checked) but after i entered a search query it would just sit there loading for ever. If I refreshed it 5 or 10 times it might finally go through, but it was damn annoying. Other websites would load just fine and google would sit there.

I just switched to bing and its been heaven.
