It works without a-gps but it need a little more time to lock. Just intall GPSJinni, let it to lock for the first time and voila!

Yes, I have noticed that, but I still want Speedometer to function since it has this nice feature with the mirror wiev, and really big digits that are easy to see (when driving the car).

Yep, Speedometer doesnt work with pr1.2. You can switch to the desktop while the program is running in the background and you can see it doesnt even attempt to use the gps

There is a newer version of speedometer at Ovi now, it doesn't seem to have the cool mirror image feature but does have many other nice things the old one never had. There is also "Speedo" right here too.
