I am new to all this linux/maemo stuff but i'm very excited!!!
Like all N900 users i faced the Ovi Contacts sync problem but i got around it so i thout i let y'all know
Here's what i did:

I use windows, so Microsoft Outlook... If you dont have it, *edit BUY IT!

Install Nokia Ovi Suite (2.1) link

Install Nokia PC Suite (7.1) link

Now do a sync on Ovi Suite with your Ovi Account. Make sure you select Outlook in the Sync Options/Contacts menu.

Open PC Suite and get connected with your N900 selecting in the Sync App Microsoft Outlook to sync contacts and THERE YOU GO!
ALL CONTACTS ARE ON YOUR PHONE!

Please let me know if it worked for you or WHAT YOU THINK of this method! Anyway o read that Ovi Suite 2.2 will be coming soon but heck, until then?

Other then the link to the Outlook WAREZ torrent, it looks like a great method.

Suggest you edit that part out and replace it with

"If you don't have outlook, please buy it."
