Given up with this as not a single remote seems to work for me, even the sky remote no longer works, which was the only working remote i could find

I got irreco working with my TV a little while ago, but didn't re-install it after the last re-flash.
From memory, it always failed with that database error when trying to open/load a preset remote (had to create a new one) and there was a background service (under /etc/init.d I think) you had to start manually in xterm...
Do some googling around and you should be also to locate some guides describing how to get it working - it's a bit of a haqq.

i have the same problem.
i'd like to program my own remote and upload it to the database, but i dont know how to do that...?!

Is there anyway to manually add a remote to Irreco if it's not in the database to download. Both my tvs are not in the database listing...
Is there a solution?
