Excuse me for the the hundred threat about this problem but i couldnt find any updated information.I would like to ask once again this option to set different ringtones to different contacts, will it be available soon/never ? If yes when, if not why not.Since many people would say why you need this option when you have your pc in your pocket i would like to tell them: I like the phone/pc BUT i really need this options since it really helps me in my work.I asked in one of the older threads, but the last post was 6 months ago and noone answered me so i decided to make a new one.

Yep mate, i did read this threat, even posted there, and no response, the last post there was like half an year ago so i ask for some new info, i doubt Nokia cant set this option for Maemo.

I did look aty this a while ago and as of now there is no solution that i can find sorry to say as i also want this option very much.

Nope. Nothing new to report here. 1.2 didn't add it. It's unclear if there will be an update after 1.2. If this feature is added, it's not likely to be added via the built-in software.

If you really have an interest in a bug getting fixed, or some kind of new feature, get an account @ http://bugs.maemo.org and submit a bug report and/or feature request.

And I really mean that as a sincere, helpful suggestion

Yes i agree and know about the bug reporting but alas i think we will have to wait untill the N900 evolves to the next OS which might well be Meego before we can look forward to this being an option even.

Instead of moaning try using your eyes and looking at the big picture or even the name of who is calling... how important is it that you spend 0.003 seconds less looking at the phone to find out who it is?

My phone is in a leather case, i gotta take it out check whos calling me eccetera, and when im during a business conversation there are only 2 people who i would respond, thats why.Its really not polite to take your phone out of the case check who is calling, in stead i can just hear the ringtone and turn it upside-down.

I will appreciate if people with such a comments like "why would you need that" , "is it gonna hurt if you look" dont reply on this threat, really i dont need any of your comments, if im asking something , there is a reason i wont ask something i dont need, and since its an option wich isnt that hard to set on phone that can act like pc, why they just dont add it.
