I am on the prowl for a used n900. I was wondering, for those who used the n900 without a mugen battery for a while before switching too it...

1) percent wise how would you say it increased your battery life as opposed to the default battery. for instance, it you could browse for 4 hours before your phone went dead, how long can you browse now?

2) are there any negative effects (sure I know some extra bulk and weight) to adding the battery in terms of applications etc? I thought I remember people saying that battery life would read 90% and then drop to almost dead with the new battery. so any gotcha's?

as I will really use this device heavily (once I find a good deal) so I don't want to be tied to a cord constantly...

thanks in advance...

To answer question number two: IIRC the battery calculation algorithm assumes that the stock battery is always installed, and that there is no third-party batteries with higher capacity.

With the Mugen battery I can very heavily use my N900 for one day long: almost continuous browsing, installing-deinstalling and the so. Stock battery allowed half a day in such conditions. The only negative effect is yoiu can't trust the stock battery gauge any more; you have to use a voltage-measuring app like batterygraph.
