My N900 froze this morning while I was trying to play a song on the media player. I waited, then tried to end task, but there was no response from pushing the power off button. Finally I pulled the battery. Now, it won't turn back on.

First, the dark/black background would come up with the Nokia sign. And the blue light would stay on.

I tried to flash it (GUI with 770Flasher w/ my mac). It successfully flashed. This time the Nokia sign with the white background came on. It starts to load with the dots flashing across but then the screen goes black. The blue light comes on and stays on for a few minutes, then the white background/Nokia sign comes on again starts to load again then completely shuts off.

At first I thought my battery was just dead since it was pretty low. I tried charging it for awhile. Didn't seem to make a difference. The charging light still comes on.

I guess I can try flashing with an eMMC image even though there's a few things i dont want to lose.

Also, I had updated to PR1.2, overcloked it using Titan's Ideal kernel last weekend. It ran fine, although the past few days it has been slow and has really been lagging in response time for opening and running programs. Also, just had a long 6 1/2 hour drive where I had media player, Fm transmitter w/ boost, and maps running. I am wondering if I just overdid it...

Is there anything I can do though? Any help would be greatly appreciated since this is my main phone.

Try leaving it on the charger for a while (a couple hours or more), then flashing rootfs/FIASCO again (standard non-eMMC flash).

Sometimes if you have a bricked device, it won't look like it's charging.

If it still doesn't charge, look for someone who has a Nokia 5230, 5235, 5800 (any edition), C3-00, or X6 (any version). They all use the BL-5J battery.

I got a corrupt /home filesystem from overclocking to much. Might corrupt other parts aswell. Try reflashing eMMC and rootfs. (worked for me)

Thanks. I think its a battery issue since my battery was really low at the time of the freeze and probably when I flashed it the first time, so its probably not charging. Sounds like its happened to a lot of other people too. Hopefully I can find someone with a Nokia at work tomorrow.

I brought my battery to a battery store (Battery plus) and paid them $5 to charge it. Tried flashing to rootfs/FIASCO again and it didn't work.

I didn't have time for an eMMC flash, but that will be my next step. I am on the road for work and have been really busy so it sucks not having time to do it. Will def try after work.

Reading through seems like other people have been having this problem though.
