why isnt it just downloadable like all other themes? I don't like all the edditing with my n900. I really love the theme... but don't know anything about rootsh or something. Is it possible to just easly download it?

EDIT: I installed it... but i put it in my docs map and went to Filemanager. and went to mydocs. then clicked on the .deb file and then he went to downloadmanager. And installed it. is this the same as with xterm? cause there i got an error.

about the theme, I really really love it! but there is just ONE little thing, the box when you receive a message is just classic gold. If it was blue it would be way nicer and suitable with the theme!

thanks

I installed this theme and some other apps by just downloading .deb file and clicking on them in file manager: and there weren't any errors.

I have no idea why people didnt even mention this easy and fast way of installing packages. Because AFAIK HAM is doing the same stuff as xterm, just behind the scenes.

I dont know may be there are some hidden downsides of this, but still it seems to be fine.

And back to the topic:
This is the best theme i've ever seen and I am really looking forward for an update (virtual keyboard, lock screen). May be you would even change wallpapers set to maemo-website, cause it looks almost the same, but seem to have more reach colors and more clear image.

Yeah, this is among the best themes i have seen!!! All three of your themes are top notch with the right mods and no un-necessary stuff making it too heavy. Please update your themes and create new ones too if you have the time. Looking forward to some fresh stuff from you. Thanks!

If someone is interested I can upload the images folder that you can use to replace the original Alpha images. Sorry, no .deb available.

Love love this theme!!!

Is it possible to change the slide lock screen from the NSeries to the same as shown in the wallpaper??

It looks odd disturbing with 2 different themes.

General caution for .deb files applies to this one also,
please install with your own responsibility.

If you notice any bugs please report them on this post.

What I did
  • Added backgrounds
  • Changed Media player/Clock/App Manager backgrounds
  • Blue progress bars
  • Blue media player icons
  • New UI elements(buttons etc)
  • Darker icons
  • Fixed bugs
  • Updated for new firmware
  • Packaged .deb

//== Theme Installation ==\\

1) To install you need to transfer the downloaded .deb file to your N900(for example Documents folder)
2) Open xterm and type(you need rootsh for this):
Code:
sudo gainroot
dpkg -i MyDocs/.documents/darksky.deb
3) Close xterm, go to Desktop -> Desktop Menu -> Themes to change theme.

If the theme doesn't look as it should it is suggested to reboot your phone after the installation.

Any updates for pr1.2. It is a lovely theme but there are some missing buttons like in the virtual keyboard for example. No backspace button!!!!

Backspace is still there, it simply misses the button graphic. You can still click in the empty area where the button should be.

OTOH, not having all the graphs sometimes crashes my hildon-input-method, locking the CPU. Had to kill it repeatedly, finally disabled OSK.

You can find the files here:

http://eris23.de/images_alpha_marina.zip

Copy the content to /usr/share/themes/alpha/images.

To revert to the original alpha theme you can reinstall it as root with:

Code:
apt-get install hildon-theme-alpha
