Hello,

I have a question.

Is there a way of integrating a 'touch-focus' feature in the N900? Is this feature software or hardware based?

It would be great if this feature is available.

Thanks.

it's software based, but my guess is that the camera app is not open source, so it might come, but in the form of a different app.

N900's camera is very very nice if you know how to handle it.
I had a KU990 LG wich was 5mp and n900 is far better.
I only miss the touch to focus function...

why don't you guys center focus on whatever you want, and then recompose the frame while holding the camera button pressed half-way and then take the picture?
that's pretty much the right way to do it since you know exactly what you focus on

yes... tht wud probably be the best way atm... however touch focus is still nicer and more user friendly...

this isnt a complaiint but more of a suggestion... the n900 camera has replaced my digital camera...

hopefully some1 who has time would be able to write a piece of software for this function...

I'm fine with it since i'm already accustomed to this - using a dslr and not even bothering with live view. viewfinder, hence focus, recompose and shoot comes normally

The problem with making touch controls for the N900 is that the camera doesn't have "Image Stabilizing" built in. So I'm thinking tapping the screen is going to cause camera shake, leading to blurring which in turn is going to be progressively worse the more you zoom in.

No reason why someone can't experiment though.

pressing the camera butt halfway is best what i found out

so it would be nice to have a fun cam app wich aggregates all funky features like lomo sketch double tap to zoom some sort of live image editing on viewfinder facewarp some gud effects
if possible using tv pc as a viewfinder via dlna usb and a plethora of useless stuff
suggested name of the app
bloated cam
