Hey!

For those of us who do not OC their phones, loading up the contact list is a mess. It takes 3-5 seconds to load up the contact list just because of the avatar pics. Can someone create a tweaker option to enable/disable avatars? This way, contact list would load faster?

I thought I saw a post from a developer saying that they'd improved that substantially... if so, maybe it's in the pipe for the next update?

Anyhow, as to removing the avatar images, I do have an idea: you could try simply symlinking the avatar.bin files which store the pictures to /dev/null. I don't know if thata would work (or help) in this case, but I've used that before to blackhole things like "Flash Cookies" (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_Shared_Object )
I'd be interested to see if that works...
