    Meego and Maemo dual boot on N900

    No. Won't work.
    Brings up an error.
    You need to do it ON the N900 using gtar. I have tried tar many times.

    As per my understanding I think untill an unless we have vfat partition available we cannt mount memory card .. so we can create two partition in memory card one ith vfat other with say Linux .. and then use dd command but now I am stuck at how to use second partition on device ..

    ive gotten as far as having a dual boot menu showing a meego option on my mem card but it crashes after several seconds, any ideas guys??

    you need to tell us what are you doing wrong

    What how to are you following? How you have partitioned your n900 to have both maemo and meego? how are you hacking the bootloader?

    and how do you know that its not working?

    what exactly is the stock fremantle kernel ? Is it the one the device is shipped with or another ? Can you please point to it ?

    I have tried your fbcon steps and put the modprobe command in /etc/rc.local. but still see the blinking dots and the hands on startup.
