How do I transfer media files or data via Wi-Fi?

On my N900 I'm able to see my PC name in the media folder and when i access it, it just keeps refreshing itself.

    Please help.

or also you can do it with power of the mind

Srsly, you have to have a program to do it, any connection between two phones use anysort of protocol to exchange data (AFAIK)

The PC entry you see in your Media Player would be because it's picking up a DLNA enabled server on your local LAN. This doesn't usually help because you also need a compatible codec and DRM key to play back the remote media (I'm looking at YOU, DirecTV receiver...).

BTW: ZogG, I was TOTALLY gonna use the "power of your mind" line. You beat me to it. LOL

The media player will not transfer files only play them. I find I have to go in to 'Files and folders' (PC not on so can't check exact name) to find any files as 'Music', 'Videos' etc... don't return anything for me either.

Install 'OpenSSH Server' on the phone and WinSCP on your PC and from your PC you can securly connect to the phone and transfer files that way.

Be careful though, with WinSCP as it has root access to your phone, you could delete stuff you don't mean to and that would mean a reflash.
