An accessory I'd love to have. None out there. Yet.

I'd like one as well, I loved my blackberry charging pod. I was thinking though, would it really be needed with the kickstand?

A powermat pack maybe? - would get me one if they made the battery pack holder thing, or a sexy case to work with the powermat

I was looking into this, and no there aren't any yet. But building one would not be very difficult. The most critical part is a USB micro-B designed for docking (no locking clips). Hirose makes one, but only in surface mount. Part number ZX80-B-5SA. Digikey and Mouser both stock it.

ahhh are you specifically thinking docking for data, power charging or both?

I was just thinking use the powermat + bluetooth for data? (Or am i horribly wrong?!)

but yeah, if the powermat never gets round to the N900, a docking station would be great

If you physically dock for charging (i.e. not a powermat) then you might as well connect the data pins, there are only two after all. I was thinking about just putting a standard (full size) B connector on the back of the dock then I could use a normal cable to plug into a USB output wall adapter or an actual USB port of a PC.

BT!? Why not wifi? faster, easier, and power does not matter as its on the charger.
Would be unusual to have a cradle but no wifi?

The Powermat is expensive.
I rather save £80 by using the wires.

I would buy it if there would be some battery cover available like they sell for Blackberry's or the I can't spell it "IPhone"
