Unfortunately, the youtube videos in 2010.06.26 version dont work for me. I do get the thumbails in "Top rated" videos but when i press on the video I only get a blank.

I tried running it from the console. I get lots of "MAFW POSITION 0" there.

But before doing so, please try to run MediaBox from X-Terminal and let me know if there are some error messages.
The flat battery makes me believe that MediaBox starts, but hangs somewhere during startup, and staying in this state.
Thanks; here's the log output (attachment mb.txt, assuming I've attached it OK).

ETA: Attachment is in 3 parts, mb1.txt - mb3.txt.

This means that the direct address of the video could be retrieved, and MAFW picked up the stream but cannot play it. Do you happen to be behind a proxy?

Thanks for attaching the logs. You're running into the Maemo5 specific code for some reason. Probably you have a fremantle repository set in the application manager and thus MediaBox thinks it's on an N900.

No i am not behind any proxy. I am using the home wifi connection (router running tomato firmware). Also, i dont have the extra codecs pack installed. Could that be the problem?

Yes, that could be a problem. The N900 cannot play FLV videos as they are used on YouTube out of the box.

That's very odd; I haven't added any repositories in a long time, and there are none that look like a Fremantle one. What is Mediabox actually looking at to determine if it's on an N900?

It checks /etc/apt/sources.list and /etc/apt/sources.list.d/hildon-application-manager.list for the term "fremantle".

Thanks! I found one entry in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/hildon-application-manager.list that had fremantle in it; don't know how it got there. I removed that, and Media box starts up now, but it won't go full-screen. Is that expected?
