according to what i heard, the vga is dx10.1 supported
so vsync is hardware limited or software?

SW limited at the driver level. HW supports vsync.
btw, DX10.1 is a Microsoft Windows term....

i read the hardware specs on wikipedia
and i think directx is like a graphic encoding system..
anyways doesnt matter, it jus shows that vga is not a dumbass one
i remember my old 32 meg nvidia supporting vsync

does nokia have a good reason or justification to half the missing features in n900?
    like voice?
dont say that maps1.0 is qt based and still being developed.. coz qt is graphic.. voice nav is.. sound? and the current maps app already shows where to turn
is it too hard to put up voice too?

Direct X 10.1 is a Microsoft API, and 10.1 compliant cards meet the hardware spec to get 10.1 certification. N900 gpu is OpenGL ES 2.0 based.

I think the VSync issue isn't a SGX530 issue, but has more to do with Nokia's implementation.

    and again
i'm not a programmer or a computer tech
i jus assumed, like u said, dx10.1 is reference to hardware specs which is good, so why cant it have vsync?
    complain to nokia?
isnt n900 supposed to be a high end device

this is the only complaint i have left for the phone..isnt there ANY WAY we can get smooth flowing scrolling like on the iphone?(sorry for the comparison!)
imean i fixed the transitions with transitions.ini...fixed the laggy feel of the phone with overclocking. if people pay enough attention to this thread like the overclocking thread, im pritty sure some genious programmer would swoop in and save the day!(again..)
please!some one out there to STOP the tearing and low fps??
ive seen the web browser scrolling on youtube for froyo on the n900 and it SIMPLY DOES NOT TEAR!!even for opera btw.
i would LOVE TO SEE THIS FIXED!!

When I used HTC Kaiser the XDA community made better drivers than originals for it. Why not do the same here ?

does any one have an idea on how to add vsync to the phone them selves?
cuz thats what makes it really smooth.
