BTW, does this thing need that latest Firmware-From_hell? 'cuz I still daren't upgrade my N800, I paid too much money for my SD cards...
Thanks Karel!

One caveat to the path given in the streaming tip that was linked. My mplayer is not located in "/usr/sbin/" as described in the how-to. Mine is actually installed in "/usr/bin/", so if you just copy/paste the path on that page into the settings and it doesn't work that may be the problem.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find many major video podcasts that aren't that way any more. It's becoming more and more like conventional television all the time it seems.

I can't get this installed. The log file says it wasn't able to locate a file for the vc-epg-widget package. I have to manually fix this package (due to missing arch).

That worked well for the most part, but having to use three screen taps versus one to get a feed/show to stream is a waste.
One tap to start streaming from the selection screen, that's all it should take to start streaming in whatever client/application you want.
Period. Nothing else is acceptable. Remember, this isn't an amateur programmer we're talking about here, this is Nokia itself. I hold them to much higher standards.

I'd agree completely, if the program wasn't clearly announced as a beta version, so I'm prepared to cut them some slack (even more so as I haven't installed the thing -- and won't do until I'm sure it'll run on the old-and-trusted firmware, the one that doesn't eat my memory cards).

Not a lot of slack, mind you, but some.

How about filing a bug report?

I can't seem to be able to launch mplayer as my external player with /usr/bin/mplayer, after highlighting the video in 'Internet Videos' mode and using File, Streamvideo

I looked at the path, and my mplayer is in /usr/bin, not in /usr/sbin

Weird, uninstalled and reinstalled mplayer, but still did not launch..

Anyone have similar issues and able to fix it?

Now all we need is a list of compatible streams on the Maemo Wiki.

Ton.

I think it's been around in beta versions but as I understand it, this is the official release version.

Anyone know what this Podshow thing is? I recognize the others... Seems like there's a lot of content in it. I've heard of Geekbrief!
