i have it connected to a linux pc. and the only partitions u see is the 29 Gb partition. And my 16GB sd card.
So no way to backup the rest remotely.
Seems hard to find a good source describing the exact functions for the options of the flasher and what they actually represent and replace in the n900 boot process
--flash-only with one of nolo, kernel, initfs and rootfs plus the combination with --fiasco --kernel --initfs --rootfs
Before i go ahead i just want to confirm i run the correct command, i am a little nervous about this hehe
If i run
"./flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_3.2010.02-8_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin --flash-only=rootfs -f"
I should have the contacts and calendar still intact?
Was a little curious what initfs will do, but could as well mean initialise filesystem hehe so i go for the rootfs option.
The FIASCO image will _never_ write to the eMMC, so whichever flags you use, you'll still have the contacts and calendar intact. Unless you know exactly what you're doing, I'd stick with the recommended "./flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_3.2010.02-8_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R"
ok
i had already tried the rootfs-only
But still could not boot. Seems the files in /etc/event where not replaced
So i tried the recommended command and now i can boot.
And my contacts and calendar is intact!!!! :-)
Thanks for the help from all of u!!!!
For another time i have to find out what all the options flags in flashing really affect in the phone....
can any one help me...... i m usual mob user .. i rcently try to unstall kernel by x terminal bt failed... then i reboot bt my n900 does nt start... only show nokia sign ......... plz help me ........... wht to do.......
try starting your own thread! You will probably need to reflash and flash th emmc too. There is a guide on the wiki. It is very hard to brick the N900 so do not worry
