can you share internet over it if you don't have 3G? Like can you share 2.5G?

Mine does get slightly warm but nothing like the warmth from charging.

Does it work now? I tried the beta when it first was pre-released and it never really worked.. Kind of forgot about the subject until the open source "Mobile Hotspot" came out, which has sometimes needed a reboot to start working, has still ended up working with either 3g or gsm speeds. Interface is incredibly basic and simple too.
Does joikuspot work now? And does it have any extra functionality to make it competitive?

yes you can share EDGE and GSM Connection.

though what i notice is an increase on battery consumption. i usually charge my n86 2-3 times a week in normal phone use, and with joikuspot on all the way, the battery lasts up to 8-10 hours. so maybe the high and fast power consumption makes it warm. (and its summer here as well) and i also enabled "high speed data connection" on my packet data settings, everything is clear on me right now

Fyi. the joikuspot is running hot on N900 as well, and its SSID is annoying Joikuspot_xxx, so I used Mobile Hotpot instead. However, there's some other probelm with Mobile Hotspot, so I use a script to create a wifi hotspot. Granted the script is not user-friendly but it's battery-friendly.
