i dont know how to use it, dont see it anywhere and can't ping with it

u dont ping with rootsh.. Rootsh is a programm wich enables root access .


1) go to the menu where ur apps are 2) open xterm ( wich is the terminal) 3) type sudo gainroot 4) type ifconfig to see several info about ur network. if u want to ping something type ping and the . ip address of the machine u want to ping

but i dont think that these info will be any usefull to u , scinse u dont know the basics of networking. 1st of all study . search on google : ip or ping or server etc

But why cant i deinstall Rootsh? Do you know that?

Couldn't not reset my phone, so had to bring it to the shop.
They had to send it to the nokia fabric.
in 2 weeks i get it back, but then i will do things i know already about.

Bit of a grave dig ... but I hacked up a proof of concept graphical wrapper to ping for the newbies...

Still just exists as a script on my N900.

can somebody tell my how it works ? i dont understand how you want to do ping.....

The "Network Tools" package is a gui wrapper for a number of network related tools including ping.
