How can I revert my N900 to PR 1.1?

The email problem in PR 1.2 is a pain in the keister, and it does not look like there's an imminent fix.

Did you try setting up your e-mail account with Nokia Messaging? It works fine for me. And i get my hotmail messages quickly.

I tried setting up a nokia messaging account but it said that nokia messaging is already enabled on my device.

Sorry if it's a dumb question but how exactly do you set up hotmail with nokia messaging?

What problem are you talking about? If you'r having problems wit POP3-accounts and/or trying to leave messages to server try this. Or if you'r having problems with reading messages offline you can try this. Other patches or fixes may also exist wich I don't know about so is those aren't you'r problems I suggest you try using the forums search-function.

Choose New account on your phone then, scroll down the list till you found Nokia Messaging then next, and then set up your hotmail or whichever account you have.

After I set my account up, it continually asks for a password. Also, Nokia Messsaging does not show any of my accounts or pull them in automatically so that when I click on Nokia Messaging, I should see my email accounts but there are none.

When I add email addresses to Nokia Messaging, they appear OUTSIDE of Nokia messaging. For example, when I open Email. it shows 3 email accounts AND Nokia Messaing (that is empty of accounts) instead of just Nokia Messaging with 3 email accounts within.

Any suggesstions?

Another problem I have noticed with email after 1.2 is that you can no longer have options to sort your inbox e.g. by subject or with later emails at the bottom. Does anyone know if this can be changed through a config file?

I cannot get one of my IMAP accounts to send emails. It keeps telling me that the password is incorrect, which is BS.

I had this problem on PR1.1 and PR1.2. It is disappointing, but I work around it by selecting a working account (Gmail IMAP) to send the replies through.

Again, please not that N900 capitalizes passwords at some point, so please re-check your settings. The email app is not inherently broken, we all use it, a settings is wrong.

Best way to handle this is write them down in plain in Notes, then copy/paste them over. Also, remember to check your settings on a different client, make sure they still work, as any problem in login gets you a login error, not just user and password.
