    Downloading from playdeb.net

    How can I configure my N900 to be able to download software from playdeb.net?

    I've tried installing the package linked on the site, but a piping error in the package freezes the install.

    PlayDeb.net package games for Ubuntu, not Maemo.

    The games there wouldn't work without modification.

    Actually, I've been able to port/directly install (depending on the software) Ubuntu programs on my N900 before, just not from that specific site.

    Might've been multi-distro programs, though...

    It has to be compiled for ARM at the least...

    MuhammadAG is almost finished with his port of ubuntu called NITUbuntu for dualbooting. Would that work when booted into NITubuntu to download from playdeb.net?

    Yup. You've probably "ported" from repo's that had an arm repository that you pulled from.

    Playdeb would require you to recompile the software on there for the ARM architecture.

    The good thing is that.. almost everything on playdeb *should* be open source.. so you can find the source somewhere and try to truly "port" the application.. but could run into many issues (like OpenGL/ES versions requiring porting).

    ARM != Intel.

    Not likely unless it's a python/ruby/interpreted game. C/++ games will not work.

    That's the word I was looking for ("interpreted")...
