couldn't find a scout section at bugs.maemo.org, so here goes:
scout 0.5 installed, searching within conversations crashes the program before search is finished. reproducability: always.
locale: sv/fi (scandinavian).
active im accounts: skype, msn (pecan)
inactive, but used im accounts: ovi, facebook (jabber), gtalk.
This crash is very strange. I have the same locale, and tried to get the crash by connecting to IM accounts (skype, facebook, msn pecan) but the app works just as flawlessly as ever before... No crashing whatsoever within conversation search!
There must be some other common factor among those whom it crashes for.
So, I registered some IM accounts. Account names
are in my profile page.
Please send me your spam and make my app crash.
Preferable messages in your language.
nicolai, why don't you create a debug version for edgar2 that maybe prints some stuff to the console or a log file. I ran from the console a few times hoping to see something interesting, but there was nothing.
I do not have any IM accounts in my Conversations, they are all SMS messages. But it still crashes all the time !!
Is there any error log formed each time?
Cheers
Ah, thank you for this hint. Now I don't have to search
for an IM-Service which could cause this.
And no, no error log. Maybe I should build a version
with logging.

I will do so. But at the moment I am away from home.
And on my n900 I can not build a package (no autotools).
Ok, I attached a debug version.
Just the executable file "scout".
Please copy and unzip the file in your home directory
and start it with
Code:
run-standalone.sh ./scout > scout_debug.log
This version prints all messages and the username
for the sender and receiver of your messages.
Please don't send me this file, as it contains your private
messages. If you encounter an application crash
look at the file
(or the last lines with "tail scout_debug.log") and
tell me if you found anything strange.
