Are you running PR1.2? The drivers are presumably specific to the kernel version (though there's no dependency specified in the package), so a pre-PR1.2 (or non-standard) kernel would most likely not work.

Yes it was and I'd say it was pretty big news.
Just because some N900 owners want everything and want it yesterday does not diminish Fcam and it's potential for developers

    my N900 wasn't overclocked tho
Did you installl the drivers (fcam) first and then install the app (fcamera)? (in this order I mean)

Mine is working fine after re-booting and have to say it does take some quality pictures, so maybe not the "exciting news" people wanted here - but still a pretty good addition. And can only get better with more development - so thanks to everyone working on it.

What is its potential for devs? I'm confused.

It's a framework and API for controlling the camera in ways that were previously not possible. It opens the door to improving existing applications (e.g. mbarcode) and implementing all sorts of new camera-based applications.

Yes, i'm running PR1.2 US firmware
or is it maybe because I did overclock my N900 ( and then went back to stock )

They be browsing the thread on the N900 with P.R. 1.3 with Flash 10.1 onboard, the bastards.
