so u can play mobile java games or not with this ? , cant realy see a good answer to this yet... , if not here's a link to a ARM J2ME port , that i quote "This J2ME porting can run java mobile phone games even better than the average phone" and thats on both half of the speed of the n900 and less. ( Originaly used on GP2X and now Wiz http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GP2X , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GP2X_Wiz )

so hopefully if this java thingy cant play games , the included source can be of some use to make it happen.

I have tried to load the java plugin library from either Sun JRE and IcedTea into Maemo Browser or Fennec/Firefox. The best result I got until now is just a black square in a web page.

The only working option at the moment is using Firefox 3.5 with IcedTea plugin from Debian ARM chroot.

The 6 .jars sample apps ran, ran flawless, and descent speed (see thread #69). The mmjre works, needs some fine tuning.

Go app manager and install microemulator; go to desktop, open microemulator, you can then open your .jar file within miroemulator box. The microemulator look at your 3.5 inch N900 screen as a regular desktop screen, i.e, 15 in monitor, so everything is very very tiny , still waiting for some guru to teach how to change the scale of this thing, other than that, I have yet to run a .jar program NOT working. and again, speed is like any maemo apps, almost eye-blinking fast, you cannot really sea anything that small, but you can hear the thundering noise of racing car games. Enjoy,

Is it possible to open a java webstart program? Like: http://files.gokgs.com/javaBin/cgoban.jnlp

I clicked it, and the 'open application' dialog opened. I selected 'jarfile' but nothing happened.

If i go command line and run $ java cgoban.jnlp then I get errors and "Could not find the main class" error.

    JUST KIDDING!

The command is $ javaws cgoban.jnlp.

The program starts but I'm having some trouble with it connecting to the server.
