The cp command needs a -r switch to copy directories recursively. Try "cp -r".
Also, please don't use different sized fonts like that just for emphasis - it makes reading your post a bit annoying.

Maybe ur the one who can Help
Im trying to install quake 3 arena !
I have downloaded quake 3 from extras devel - my quake 3 Icon is on n900 desktop !!
I do the following to get my quake 3 working on my n900 ...
I made a baseq3 folder its located on my n900 MyDocs the very first page on n900 where all the music is and videos ! Inside the folder there are EIGHT pk3 files...
SO I disconect my USB from mass storage mode and go to xterminal.. I type in xterm :
cp /home/user/MyDocs/quake/* /home/user/baseq3
And then it says: omitting directory!!
I open quake3 ,but still doesnt work ! ....
Help me please I wantt to get quake3 working on my n900 !
Please help
