I feel proud to own a Nokia N900. It’s been barely 10 days I had purchased this incredible Phone. I wish to give my feedback and seek your support in solving following Issues. I am sure following issues if taken care of, than this phone would be dream machine for anyone on the planet. May I inform you that I am not an IT person, so me using any script or something similar may damage the handset, as they say that half knowledge is BAD.

1. How do I activate Touch Screen Sliding Bar to unlock the phone instead of using physical sliding key? Whenever phone goes in lock mode, touch screen should display Sliding bar for the unlocking phone.

2. I found conversations mode very slow, I mean it is really very slow.
When I tap for opening a new sms,
When I delete the sms or conversation, after deletion of sms going back to conversation listing screen; It takes almost 5 (1,2,3,4, and 5)seconds to complete each tasks. I have to read and delete almost 50 smses daily and believe me such delay is no less than a torture.

3. MOST IMPORTANT: There are no RED and GREEN Phone call physical buttons. So whenever I need to make a phone call I have to follow cumbersome 4 steps before I get a Dialling pad or Call log or Contacts list? Please inform if following can be done:
- How do I put a widget of phone on desktop?
- Can I configure a physical key (Sliding Unlock key) so phone opens in phone mode directly instead of desktop mode.

4. How do I connect N900 via wifi to my PC/Laptop so I can remotely view, open or operate, transfer files between my Phone and PC or Laptop and Printing of files from my Phone.

5. Google Latitude is a must for me. How do I use in my N900. Or Do you think, Ovi maps has following features:-
- GPS
- Satellite images with zooming
- Bookmarking and sharing my favorite locations. (My business is such; I need to share favorite locations for my customers)
- Sharing my and friends locations in real time
- Friends list with communication support, i.e. Phone call, sms.

6. Many videos which used to play in my previous Nokia phone do not play in N900. How do I get extra codec for playing MP4 videos?

7. How do I buy full Editable version of MS Office 2007?

8. Why playing flash videos are so slow in Phone? I have a 2Mbps Net connection and you tube videos play seamlessly on my PC. Whereas it starts buffering after every 30-35 seconds of play.

9. Daily I have to remind medicines to my dad and I am using calendar feature, which buzzes daily 12 times at different times, but it has slowed down the phone dramatically. Many a times the screen goes blank and alarm keeps ringing. It’s worse when incoming call rings in simultaneously.

10. My phone screen often goes blank, while incoming call rings in. I only see small blinking ringing blue phone icon in the middle of screen. After about 5 seconds the whole screen becomes visible. Please suggest me a solution.

11. How do I delete the memory of words typed in virtual keypad? I have misspelled few words which is been recorded in virtual keypad memory and every time I type it shows wrongly spelled words.

12. While I transferred Note files from my previous E75 phone, it was received as zip file and when I opened them (via Notes) it displayed all garbled characters. How do I transfer my Note files to N900?

13. Opening 4 or 5 web windows slows down the display of each window. I have seen on you tube, that people are using upto 61 windows without any lag. Is there something wrong with my phone?

14. During a voice call, when I bring the phone in front to obtain or write a phone number or writing something, SCREEN remains BLANK for a long long time. This is really so irritating.

15. Another problem is with the FONTS. They are so small, especially in contacts and menu.

16. How do I use gif images in N900, ones which keep moving in a still image.

17. How do I transfer smses from my previous Nokia phone?

I have barely used few features of this stupendous phone. As I get more time to explore I would give my feedback. In the meantime I look forward to receive you helping hand in resolving above issues. Although N900 has so many bugs, still I find it very useful and more lifelike, where I need to make it perfect according to my choice and requirement.

3. You can assign a short cut to camera or proximity sensor that can speed phone access up. You can add a shortcut to phone on desktop and also in the phone menu you can activate launch by turning.

4. You need special software for this (I'll remember what it's called and edit this)

7. on the N900???? Not possible

8. Depends on size of flash game. some are very heavy and do not play well. (maybe better if.when flash 10 comes out)

13. It should manage that many windows. Do you have much else running (widgets etc) and are they using much net connection each?

dude there are too many question bit for some i can give you the answer>
1>if your phone is locked press the power button
3>press and hold on your desktop then in the upper left corner should be a round symbol.press it and there should be "add shortcut" choose the telephone shortcut and you will have it
4>install ssh from the repositorys
6>install extra a/v codec support from the repositorys
7>ovi store
8>flash should run great type top in xterm and look what kind of proess is eating your cpu
9>you shoul update to the newest firmware version using the flasher search the wiki for that
10>its a well knowed bug.there is no great solution for this YET.but you can disable auto rotate in the upper bar in your tlephone app
13>like i said update to the newest firmware version with the maemo flasher

Chances are the phone's been sitting in the shop stockroom for some time.
So, go to "Settings" -> "General" section -> "About product" and check the version number of Maemo 5.

If you're lower than 10.2010.xx-x.xxx.x, then you need to update.
