Hey,

I am currently posted to a research institute whose WLAN authentication method doesn't seem to suit my N900. It requires first connecting to the network (WPA pre-shared key), then opening the browser and entering another username / password. Using the browser, all works fine. However, the Maemo mail client can't seem to receive, delete (IMAP) or send emails. Where may the problem lie, given that other applications (esp. Skype chatting) can use the network without problems? Please can anyone suggest a fix?

Thanks a lot!

Does the network in question actually allow mail traffic in and out on ports 143 and 25 respectively?

I think maybe the ports that Mails app using is blocked?
If possible, check the port settings.
