[xterm] How does one execute a control-j or an escape (Esc) using the on-screen keyboard?

One of the amusing things I noticed about the keyboard is that with the autocompletion on it tells you (and anyone watching) what your passwords are as you type them in. Oops....

Well, I don't find it really amusing: I noticed that the autocompletion of everything you type persists between sessions, so it is stored somewhere.
I'm not really comfortable having my ssh keyring passphrase stored anywhere, much less on a portable device.
Is there a way to delete the autocompletion cache and then only disable it for xterm?

I managed to open the xterm, and looked around the system. I found that vi was available. I tried it and could'nt get out of it.

hmm. 2nd Question. Where is the layout for the on-screen keyboard defined (when in doubt remap the keyboard to match my usage)
