Careful, that file is (C) Nokia with no redistribution/modification licence attached. Perhaps we should do a licence request first.

Just to be clear, nothing in the community SSU touches this file yet.

Hm, my (unmodified, md5sum ebc602ae77698891d82938040d90eef9) one has neither of these lines. Do you have bootmenu installed (perhaps slightly different versions on the two tablets)?

    Yeah that must be it.

As far as I'm concerned Nokia can deal with it. But I am going to pull my files as I do have bootmenu on both devices, one of which I was messing with and that's not what was asked of.

I need to do a reflash anyway, as I borked my install so after that I'll post again.

Ok, then could you do it? It's ridiculous to have such a simple startup script propietary.
In the meanwile, I just need line 10 of the script, which is what I have changed.

i suspect its SOP for corporate lawyers to slap a (c) on anything that will be in readable form.

    standard organisation practice?

standard operating procedure, tho petur's variant seems quite fitting as well.

it may even be that whatever CVS that nokia uses internally slaps those (c)'s on things automatically.

and it's not lawyers who do it. Nowadays, copyrights are automatic and copyright notices unnecessary.

makes community efforts a pain in the behind tho, if every little file needed needs to be cleared with the mothership first. Makes me wonder if nokia is really committed to this open source thing, or if its just a helpful source of building blocks to avoid having to reinvent various wheels.

in other words, using copyright this way seems to be an abuse of the very reasons it got set up in the first place, as it has nothing to do with protecting a individual creative from being exploited by a large "publisher".
