I don't know if it can help, but it boots in this sequence:
1. We see all these stuff scroll on a black screen
2. NITDroid boot screen shows up, with the matrix style letters falling down behind
3. While this boot screen is still up, the red led starts flashing
4. NITDroid boots, led still flashing, at first I can see on the upper left: preparing sd card
5. Then, it writes sd card is now safe to remove
6. Then, everything shuts down...!
P.S. During the whole time, the battery is red with a bar on it like if it was empty. In maemo, it shows up nearly full! I tried with 2 different batteries and it's the same thing so I'm certain that the battery's not the problem.

Sorry for the multiple posts, but for an unknown reason, I got it to boot.
I shut my device down, put it on charge, then I went to get a coffee and when I came back, it was on welcome screen of NITDroid. Red led is still flashing and battery shows empty, but I can play with it now. Strange.

EDIT: After a couple minutes of navigating, a shut down screen appeared and the device shuts down

So i'm following all the procedures from the tutorial in the first post.. i think i deleted this pack:
Code:
rm /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.28.10power37
rm -r /lib/modules/2.6.28.10power37
My N900 now is in infinite reboot mode LOL
Going to format and reinstall the pr1.2 in it from scratch and start all over!
For those who use power kernel DON'T delete those files or the n900 will do infinite reboots!
You have been warned!
Dj_Steve btw have you ever tried this yourself?
Thanks!

hi,

just set up NitDroid for the first time using the instructions in the first post.

I have multiboot showing up every time i boot up the phone, keyboard open or not - the only option visible is NitDroid, i'm thinking there should be an option for Maemo there too?

if i boot to nitdroid i get all the normal text scrolling up the screen quickly then it goes to a black screen with a cursor in the top left but not able to enter text at all.

any idea how to firstly get back into maemo - hopefully without reflashing - and secondly what i've done wrong that is not allowing nitdroid to run?

To boot using Maemo, just press 0 (zero)
Then, for your problem regarding NITDroid, check a couple posts before this one, Dj_steve explained how to fix the problem!

rm -rf *

Hope this helped!

I followed the tutorial from the first page and done the fix that dj_steve gave in this page..
but i think i've done something wrong.. all i get is about 5 minutes rain drop from matrix and won't go further...
is it better to do the process all over again? my initial thoughts is that some files are missing and it won't start because of that... i'm i right?
i think i'm going to do the tutorial again...
how do i format partition 2 of the microsd card and do it all over?

Yeah you should reformat and repartition your microsd! That's what I did and now it's working A1
Insert the microsd in N900, go in file manager, press and hold on memory card then select format. Should do the trick for format. You could also plug N900 in mass storage mode to your pc, and your memory card will appear in My Computer.
Obviously, you won't need to reinstall multiboot. Format your microsd, then start the tutorial of this thread at STEP 4: 4. Next up lets partition that MicroSD: first a bit of background info though
Then do all the rest of the process.
Also, what do you get after the 5 minutes rain drop from matric? Shut down? Or you get a black screen with a white cursor on the upper left? If it shuts down, do what I said (reformat then repartition and reinstall from step 4). If, on the other hand, you get a black screen with a white cursor on the upper left, then do what dj_steve said a couple posts before this one:

Not sure what could get messed up, just wanna be safe

I'm wondering about this since I am about to do a reinstall of NiTDriod since it won't boot any more
