I have tried searching through the web and the threads here, however I am unable to locate a discussion or some guidance on how this will be done.
I have a N900. As usual practice downloading applications on N900 is done via Wifi pointing to web address of ovi store or here on maemo.org.
However is it possible to not use wifi and download the application first on the PC and then onto the N900 via usb transfer.
What we download on PC is just an initiator, for N900 to actuall install anything it requires active internet connection over wifi or mobile service provider.
Please guide. how i can download entire application on pc from ovi store or maemo.org and then transfer over usb to install on N900.
well then how nokia expects everyone to backup applications and restore them after a firmware upgrade. Do they expect always download over internet or we should build / backup our application repository on desktop and later do a transfer on n900 to restore it.
This is trouble. As wifi is ok but repeated download consumes bandwidth and it has an associated cost.
