Really nice idea, but I don't want to fill my /home partition with all those folders. What if I replace /dev/mmcblk0p1 (or whatever home partition is) with /dev/mmcblk1p2 (the second partition on my SD) in your script?!
I don't want to play "find out the hard way" now because I'm on vacation and bricking my N900 means no Internet for more than 2 weeks
EDIT: I thing flasher3.5 can extract the fiasco image and get the folders out of it. We could install a clean system that way

Don't do it right now - script assumes that /home will be in the same partition. It is needed to be fixed.
I will think about you idea - just visit Fry's Electronics and buy Class 10 uSD to test.
EDIT: it is interesting because it would allow a test of non-EXT3 root file system.
I understand that Jay-C made Multiboot, could be wrong?
Well I PM'd him and got a reply this morning regarding getting it to boot this:
"Jay-C]yes,
you can't run kernels off /home, so multiboot is not suitable for this. Sorry."
So either very busy, not interested and not will to assist or not the
Ok longer reply.
multiboot is not self contained, it actually works on top of maemo 5.
It needs to have a working Maemo installation in UBIFS, *including* the kernels and their modules.
If you move the kernels / everything into /home, it just won't work.
It's not designed to.
I've
1. re-flashed my n900
2. installed titan's kernels
3. run M32GBinit.sh
4. run M32GBboot.sh - but at this step it says "/sbin/preinit is a modified (non-PR1.2) version. Stop"
I'm not sure how to handle this. I have ext3 formatted space on mmcblk1p2. Any tips on how to make this work? thank you egoshin!

Can you send me the file /sbin/preinit ?
And what is your software version ? (go to Settings --> "About product", line "Version")
I re-flashed it again, so it will take a little bit of time to do the steps again and get you the preinit (less than 1 hour I will upload it).
I have PR1.2; version states "10.2010.19-1"
thanks for your prompt response.
Can you do a real look into "About product"? This version string has additional suffix which indicates a country. For exam, in USA it has "10.2010.19-1.002" - I am interesting about what is in place of "002".
