Any suggestions? On every call, once I steer my phone away from my ear the Speakerphone activates. I sometimes check my voicemail and always have to use the dial pad to review my messages but everytime I attempt to press a button, the speakerphone activates. How can I make it stop? Also, the turning control from horizontal to vertical doesn't work consistently. I select phone to dial but its on horizontal mode even when I have my phone held vertically. Any suggestions?

You wouldn't happen to have Phone speakers switcher (app from extras-testing) installed?

Well, the function of that app is to automatically do precisely what you wrote in your first post. The proximity sensor detects when you're holding the phone to your ear and when you take it away it automatically activates the speakerphone.

If this is not desireable then you could uninstall that app.

EDIT: The proximity sensor function can also be turned off in the settings for the app (Settings -> Extras).

Okay. Thanks aanckar, I'll remove it and see what happens but what about the phone going landscape mode when held vertically while on the phone. I'm on the phone as soon as I choose dial pad or contacts it goes to landscape mode.

Thanks aanckar, the phone speaker switcher was the cause of it. Didn't realize what that did. I thought it was meant for headphone use as described in its descriptions. Thank you.
