- dpkg is installing deb files that you already have downloaded
- apt-get install is checking the repository and downloading the file and installing it
Vlc is still in beta status so not available in any repository
Thanks a lot clovis.
package not installed (I really don't know why), but I'm happy that finally I learned a little about terminal!
but I've a question : if the command was dpkg for installing them, so what was apt-get ???
and why these files are not graphically installable (like windows)??? isn't that more user friendlier??? (I'm new to ubuntu (4 months), and I have this problem with that to)
Oh dear. You might have completely wrong device in your hands :|
DO NOT INSTALL STUFF OUT OF official repositories if you do not know how to backup and flash your device! This is not Windows where you can install stuff lying around in different webpages. (actually you can but itīs not recommended)
So, i got it downloaded and installed with no problems, but when i try to run the app, i just get a black screen for 1 sec, and it goes back to normal, but vlc doesnt start.
Anybody?

@HellFlyer
Thanks a lot, finally I have it!
I had tried it, but with a little difference : "components: main" instead of "free", and that was because of this : http://download.videolan.org/pub/vid...mantle/Release
@slender
Don't worry. I don't need to know how to backup and flash my device from now, internet is always in access for these problems. and next time when an amateur like me asks a question, if you know how to help, help her/him, if not, please just don't try to make her/him disappointed! Thanks.
