<< Do you mean that you want to type the message on your PC and then send it as SMS, coming from the phone number of your N900?>>
[Anand] Yes, that is what i would like to do.
I am using t-mobile and i do not believe they have such ability on their website.
I've used Oxygen Software in past to send/receive SMSes for my Nokia e90 from my laptop. But it seems this software does not support N900.
Nokia PC Suite (version 7.1.51.0) can send SMS from PC (when the mobile is connected by USB/Bluetooth in Suite Mode)
Creating and sending text messages
To create and send an SMS message from your PC, do the following:
Select File > New > Message. A blank message dialog opens.
Select recipients for the message in the following ways:
Write the phone number of the recipient to the To: field.
Click Select recipients to open the contact database, double-click to select the recipients and click OK.
Write your message in the text area.
Click Send message.
Your SMS is sent to the selected recipients.
Tip:
When sending a message to someone whose contact information is in the contact database, you can write the recipient's name directly to the To: field and the recipient's information is retrieved. If the recipient has multiple phone numbers, right-click the contact name to select which phone number to use.
You can also create and send text messages from the Contacts view of Nokia Communication Centre. In the Contacts view, highlight one or more contacts and click Send message. The message editor opens with the recipients' phone numbers filled in, and you can write your message in the text area.
Quick reply.
Try Ovi Suite, version 2.2 http://europe.nokia.com/support/down...-text-messages
Both Nokia PC Suite and Ovi Suite can work with N900 (in USB PC Suite Mode), just make sure that only one of these two programs is running on the PC (otherwise, the two suites will fight with each other)
However, I'm afraid that neither of them supports sending/receiving messages yet. I don't know. Ask Nokia.
