    The next problem:
Multiboot has been successfully installed. I tried to do the NITDroid bit but it basically says, I haven't got bzip2 installed - which is correct. I am not able to install it via Xterminal as you know, and am unable to find it in the application manager. Any ideas? Are there any other programs I will need to get this up and running?

Nearly there.. hopefully. This isn't as easy as I thought.
    bzip2:

If you need something in the future, and can't find it in app mngr, you can allways turn to here to find it :

Thanks again - you are a great help. Sorry to bother you again - I think you'll be as gald as me when it is installed correctly. I think the first link you gave me is actually for wget and not bzip2. Therefore I went to the repositry bit like you suggested, found bzip2 but am unable to find out how to actually download it.

    browncaravan:

    run this in ROOT xterm
    Code:
    wget http://downloads.nitdroid.com/Public%20Uploads/bzip2.deb
    dpkg -i bzip2.deb

If you tap this link on your n900 the download app should pop up and let you choose where to save it...

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately it seems I am unable to download applications via Xterminal, unless you know of a way round it, this is my problem:

I will have a go at downloading to the phone and then installing via application manager for now. Cheers

browncaravan modified two files to make some handsfree set work. They turn out to be dependencies wich xterm wants to install to make 'apt-get install' to work

So we are trying to work around that

    So close....

I thought all had gone correctly, but I am stuck at the point where it goes through all the Android files and then gets stuck on a blank screen with only the white cursor at the top left of the screen. As this has come up before I followed the suggestion of going through step 6 again. It didnt work, when I try and load it now it says it cannot find line 1... I'll format the card again and have another go at it soon. I'll let you know how I get on in a while. Thank you all for your assistance.
