If not, its ok, we're all idiots from time to time. Use the "Sym" button on the top left of the keyboard, its the second symbol from the left on the top row. ;-)

thanks...that worked but the keyboard is still off...what should i do now?
It might be due to an uneven lighting in the room that causes the keyboard lights to off suddenly. i hv that occasionally. when it happens i jus cover the proximity sensor wif my finger and the keyboard will light up agn
