Sounds to me this topic deserves an own thread.
Anyone start a spin-off and post the link?

Well to be "on off-topic" I agree with attila77 that the community Q/A process is a good idea.
Hence, imho it helps to provide at least some sort of quality assurance level.

Though, I can also understand the caveats pycage mentioned.

The current way things are handled is at least "suboptimal" for "everyday" users to leave their feedback.
E.g. should it not be necessary to search and dig through wiki pages before being able to leave decent feedback.
I know RTFM is a well known dogma but in some cases a little more intuitive user guidance might be beneficial.

To me a special application like KISStester appears to be a promising solution.
Such an application would guide users/tester through the whole process easily and aid in answering the questions.

Maybe, an even more "extreme" idea could be to provide some sort of library which developers can use to add some sort of voting functionality into their applications.
I.e. developers can simply add a Q/A functionality to their own applications, such that users can vote even without installing a special application like KISStester.
Though, I don't know how practical such an approach would be.
Edit: Such a library would of course still guide the user through some simple Q/A questionnaire and not provide just a "vote" button.

Anyhow, many thanks to all the brave souls who actually work through the Q/A queue and keep doing the testing work.
