Good news, 13 hours battery life #n900 #maemo #nokia . How. loaded Easy Debian to get Open office and that all I did.
Was lucky to get 5 hrs befor that.

    Would love to know why?

Would you first try to list apps what you have installed, describe how you use it (3g,gps,browsing,wifi etc.) and make estimation how long you browse, listen music etc. Search forum about battery drainage and how to avoid it and how to monitor your system.

    In xterm you can run:
    maemo-list-user-packages
    And it shows installed apps

    If you run:
    maemo-list-user-packages > packages.txt
You will get packages.txt filename that contains all listed packages

    hint:
You can evoke maemo-.... command by just typing maemo- and then hitting tabulator and you will have list, then write couple of letters more, for example li and tabulator again and it auto completes command.

    Hi
    Thanks for your quick response.

I am not sure what point you are making, but I have attached screen print of installed apps.I use the phone frequently using 3G,and Wifi I hardly ever play music but do run short Youtube presentations, have SatNav but only use it connected to car power.

The point I was making is that having done nothing different before or after loading Easy Debrian my battery life has at least doubled. I do understand that some apps are battery greedy.
What I do not understand is why the battery life has improved.

    Any Views?

    Regards
